Honors

In addition to winning various national event awards, Kate was selected by The Pentagon to be one of two representatives of the State of Washington to participate in the coveted Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC), U.S. Department of Defense, Washington, D.C, for training as a civilian advocate corps for U.S. military services. She was nominated by the commanding general of Fort Lewis (Tacoma, WA).

She was selected by the Consular Corps of the State of Washington for special recognition for fostering cross cultural learning and participation, and for leading the program that escorted the first U.S. international student exchange program into Vietnam following the end of the Vietnam War.
